Keynote Title: Design Thinking 101

Design thinking is key to innovation, and it’s one of the most powerful tools that you can add to your toolbox. The solution-based approach to problem-solving emphasizes practical, creative thought with the goal of developing the best possible solution. It’s an excellent methodology when you need to get out of your comfort zone and find non-obvious solutions to difficult problems. During this session, we’ll walk through the methodology and a few exercises that will provide you with an introduction to Design Thinking. Our hope is that you leave with the ability to incorporate the Design Thinking methodology into your daily life – whether it be with coworkers, clients, or your personal relationships.

Mark Caswell is President for KSM Consulting, LLC. Mark’s primary responsibilities include directing KSMC’s private sector services ensuring the highest quality and efficiency leading to optimal client results.

Mark is a proven business leader and has worked in project and program management for over 15 years, delivering successful results for a wide range of projects of varying sizes and types across multiple industries. Mark has experience in the delivery of small, local projects as well as the leadership of large, global projects. This diversity of experience, both in execution and leadership of projects, helps him maximize the value that KSMC brings to our clients.

Trained in Design Thinking methodology at Stanford University, Mark led the incorporation of the methodology into KSMC’s approach to client service and solution development. He leads training and facilitates workshops all over the country, including with KSMC’s internal team.
