You’re an innovation champion. You’ve just launched a category disrupting product and scaled creative capacity throughout your organization. You know innovation can change the world, but can you drive innovation in your own backyard? Innovating in community is not a direct line from working inside of your organization; it requires a different orientation, skills and timelines to succeed. Drawing from over a decade of experience working in communities to develop innovative products, services and policies, this session delivers insights on how to run innovation projects with communities and provides a set of tools that you can use to start driving change in your own neighborhood.

Ramsey Ford is the co-founder and design director of Design Impact–a social innovation non-profit located in Cincinnati, OH. Over the past 10 years, Ramsey has led dozens of creative projects that awaken community power, change organizations and build networks. He uses this experience to advance the conversation on inclusive design through regular workshops, speaking and writing. His work has been featured at the Public Interest Design Institute, IDSA International, the Design Observer, FastCompany, Innovations, the Public Interest Design Practice Guidebook. He received both his undergraduate degree in industrial design and Master of Design from the University of Cincinnati.
