Second City Works
Second City Works
The Second City name is synonymous with the art of sketch comedy and improvisation. Performing sketch comedy for over 58 years, our unique brand and creative process has cultivated the talents of such comedy heavyweights and legends as Joan Rivers, Steve Carrell, John Belushi,Chris Farley, Martin Short, Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler, just to name a few. You want your teams to work smart, work creatively and collaborate with purpose. Yet, you continually run into the workplace conventions and dysfunction that makes doing so an incredible task without the right partner. At Second City Works, we start with the premise that dysfunction exists that comedy part) and give individuals and teams the tools to work through, past and beyond the barriers that we face each working day (thats the improvisation part) – to make working not such hard work. Through hundreds of engagements a year, Second City Works brings the principles of improvisation to the world of work. Through events, workshops and video, we help companies breakdown barriers, foster collaboration, co-create and thrive.
Meagan O’Brien began her career as a mechanical engineer designing airplane cockpit controls. She began taking improv classes in the evenings, and after 7 years of living a double life she quit engineering to tour with The Second City National Touring Company. From there she began working for Second City Works and now has the pleasure of bringing improv skills to companies big and small.
